Gone with the ashes

This is my first blog... Whole world has already mastered the art of blogging.. This is new for me and I'm starting this new phase of life with feeling very sad and unhappy. This is because of tiny insignificant volcano throwing out Ash , miles away from where I live. What a mess it has created. Volcano (By the way I still can't pronounce its name even after all the fame it got) made millions of people suffer. We could see on TV passengers stranded on the airports etc etc.. but that's just the tip of the iceberg. So many programmes cancelled, so many wedding spoiled, so many students missed their exams, so many business effected . Since I'm from book trade I can say how bad it was us who were participating in London Book Fair. Such a big event spoiled and we could do nothing.
Flashback to the day it happened : I was checking through my entire list of TO DO LIST FOR LBF. Books to be exhibited: Check (already send months ago and reached in London), Hotel Bookings, Site seeing etc: Checked (Done months ago); Catalogue card order forms etc: Checked .... I glanced through list of 30 things and everything was done ..phew... All my packing done . n ready to go... then I receive a call telling me about the cancellation of the flights. I thought to myself Oh it must me some small thing which everyone just blows out of proportion . Then I checked BBC... OMG its true! After that the went by pretty much just sitting in front of TV or net checking BBC flight .. No flying zone till 0700hrs... and so on.. Day became days. Though everyone tried to make me see the brighter side, at least you are not sitting on some airport. But what disappointed me the most was my effort , my months of planning wasted in just few second .. All this make us realise we are nothing in front of the mother nature. She call the shots. These things like earthquake in china should be a wake up call for all of us . Though we can not do anything about the volcano puffing out smoke or earthquake shaking our country but we should be more responsible about the things which are in our hand. We should take care of our environment.
This was my first international exhibition and hope that this is not the last n also next time there is no volcano specially with such a complicated name!
